Wtf is Brass and why have I never played it???

To my knowledge, you haven't played Agricola, Le Havre, Through the Ages, or Rise of Empires either.  They, along with Brass, are incredible games which you should try sometime.  I personally think that you and Mr Cross would love Through the Ages.

Wow, I thought I liked board games, but it turns out I have no idea what Im talking about.  I haven't even heard of the majority of these games being listed.  My list will likely receive some ridicule, but here it goes:

1. HeroQuest (I absolutely LOVED this game, but sadly lost it years ago Cry )
2. Stratego (I bought the 'fantasy' themed version... I dig me some fantasy)
3. Othello (very simple to play, but quite challanging + I find the game aesthetically pleasing)
4. Trivial Pursuit (I'm a big fan of useless knowledge... but that damn  Orange category gets me every time)
5. Chess (I'm not really all that crazy over chess.. it kindof makes me feel stupid.  But I ran out of games I could think of  Embarrassed )

That was hero scape, with the hex tiles and such.  This is a much more old school game!  (If I'm not mistaken.)

Heroquest is also a much more valuable game, going for many dollars for some unfathomable reason to me.  If you want to play a game like that why not just play an RPG?

"HeroQuest" was a lot more 'user friendly' than your average pen & paper RPG.  It did not take ages to create a character nor did it rely so much on the "dungeon master" being especially intelligent or creative.  Basically all of the plusses of an RPG and none of the hassles.  Especially if you're 12 years old (which I was at the time).  I always wanted to get into a traditional RPG but never had the sort of/number of friends to realistically play.

I am not saying that Heroquest never hit the table when I was younger.... but I found the gamers for RPG's- though I always was the DM.  It was a lot more fun with endless opportunity and enjoyment I still talk about to this day!
